I had Grid Goo added to the perms recently. I just noticed that in my Caedes Control that it has a * beside the textures gallery. ie Photography->Textures *
Just wondering why it got archived even thought it was already added to the perms?

my guess would be .. two different sets of eyes involved .. one sending to, and another weeding out
the "perms" are anything but permanent ... *caedes accidentally referred to them using that word "one time" and the nomenclature has stuck down thru the millennia ... he later tried to deny it, while scratching his head why everybody referred to them that way ... links were provided ... the case was settled out of court for an undisclosed figure
or something .. I could have dozed off
anyhow .. short version is .. the perms get weeded out now and then
When you initially uploaded it did you upload to "New images -> photography -> textures"?
Sometimes I move images into a gallery I feel is more appropriate but forget to put the "new images" bit on the front and thus they are sent to the perms when all I actually meant to do was recatagorize them. Maybe that's what happened here? Just guessing though.
Hmm, very weird. I understand the weeding out of the perms, but this image was recently added into the perms. Doesn't really make sense, to me, to take it out so soon after it being added in.
Having images being moved into different galleries has happened to me (makes no difference to me). However, I do remember when uploading this one, I selected the textures gallery.

Don't know...
But when moving, we can make some errors. Errare humanum est ;-)
The number of downloads of your 'Grid goo' (and the c-index) is not very high though. That means your image is not really popular. Does it deserve a place in the perms?

Well, the same thing happened to me recently and I was given a logical explanation (ie it had been weeded out) but I understand how you feel because it is quite hurtful to have a picture weeded out after such a short time, when there are pictures in the same gallery from 2002.
But we are strong and brave - we can take it : ) :) Mine had a cindex of 61 and probably did not deserve to be there but what DOES upset me is seeing images in the same gallery as low as 30's and 40s' and one of mine at 83 was archived with never even a short stay in the perms.- but I admit I get upset easily :) :) :) Its just that I really was very happy with my 83 picture . . . . . . . . .sob
I'm not upset, I was just wondering if it was a mistake that it was archived. Didn't make sense to me at the time that it would be archived that quickly. That's fine if it was being weeded out, it's gotta be done to make sure we make proper use of the disk space on the server.
lol @ Keifer, I wish my images would behave, but it's like they have a mind of their own. Personally I think they are just the most well behaved images when I upload them. But it's when they start hanging out with others in the Caedes school yard that they start misbehaving...lol
