for as much as the photographer part of me loves cool sights like this, the phone guy part of me knows what a disaster an ice storm can be.

how about we keep our fingers crossed that PJ and everyone else in the region that we do, and don't know comes outof this unscathed..

I'm with you there Rob. Weathering these kinds of storms can be very perilous.

Just here in the Dallas area its a little thin, but still, such an extreme for texans. Power's flipping on and off. Prayers for the less fortunate are always a help.

*crosses fingers ... toes ... hands ... arms ... legs*

Uh ... the 'legs' part ... although it too is for good luck ... it has more to do with 'nature calling' at the moment. :o\

Thanks for bringing this to our collective attentions Rob. Never underestimate the power of thoughts and prayers. :o)

I live 15 miles from where that photo was taken, a telephone pole broke in two from the weight of the ice and fell onto the road 100 yards from my house, the road was closed and power and phone lines were out from 4:30pm 1/14 until today at 8:30am. I was going to take a photo but it was to foggy outside. I was still able to get work, just had to take a detour. I know alot of other people had it much worse, and power is still out in several areas, my prayers go out to them. Also, Shawn Hornbeck, the 15 year old boy that was just found after he had been missing for 5 years lived only 30 miles down the highway from my house. My prayers go out to him and his family and the other 13 year old who was also found with him. So it has been a good, and bad weekend here in Missouri.

Welllll ... I had 'to go' really bad ... hence the double post.

*turns red from embarrassment?*

No ... I am turning red 'cause of all this crossing I am doing ... it's cutting off my circulation. Carry on ... I'll be ok.

So far, so good HERE !! No loss of power, but we've had some in the general area!! Travel has been slow, but not bad today. Got home Friday night and stayed there till this morning. We had plenty of smokes, coffee, scotch and bourbon to make it thru the weekend!! My biggest worry was electrical outage, as many more unfortunate people have had, as my home is total electric. I went and bought a couple of propane heaters that run off 1# cylinders and produce enough heat to get by on...for a while anyway. Many thoughts to those who've had it much worse than me the past couple of days!!

Hottrockin...make that Coldchillin in Missouri!!

Thanks for the thoughts Rob!!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes
