Help! Perhaps this has been addressed before but I'm new to Caedes. In the Voting Booth, the pictures come up at random and many of them appear to be fractals. Other than being beautiful, I have no idea why I'm being asked to vote on them because I have no idea how they're made thus, can't appreciate the time and technology put into them. Why are they included in Photographs?
Because the images in the Voting Booth aren't seperated by type, or genre, at least not yet. So you'll see Photography, 3D, photomanipulations & yes .... fractals grouped together.
I realize it's a bit difficult to vote on the technical aspects of a fractal, when you don't know anything about them. I know nothing of the more intricate aspects of photography, yet I feel qualified enough to vote on those. How about just taking a look at the fractal & seeing the lines or the colors ? Surely you can find something there.
BTW... Welcome to Caedes ! I hope you have a terrific time here.
Thank you for your reply on fractals. Is this something done on a computer using math, drawing, or what? I've been voting on them primarity for their intricacy and beauty. Some are incredibly beautiful.
Fractals can involve a lot of mathematical work ... but most of them are created just by random mucking around ... they are basically the easiest kind of digital artwork to make :)
Does anybody on this site actually know how apophysis works! I've tried, and I have no idea how it actually works.
I personally think ppl know that if i move this here, and that there, it will make this, or if it move this here and that there, it might make this. They never think, ah yes, *goes to break out their TI Voyager with a stack of paper and pencil,* time to make a fractal.
