The good, the bad & the ugly in recent news events who deserve to be showered with praise or damned for all eternity…..
Zero #1. Porsche for using their large stake in the Volkswagen Audi Group to try and kill off rivals Lamborghini & Bugatti in what could be best described as a petulant and childish move driven by jealousy and getting their lederhosen in a twist over never hoping to build cars as exotic and outstanding as either of the other two super car giants.
Hero #1. Katherine Schaefer a researcher from the University of Rochester Medical Centre who may have discovered a new way to attack tumours that have learned how to evade existing drugs. Schaefer was looking for drugs to treat inflammation and diarrhoea and accidentally got the amounts of compounds for the drugs mixed up ending up killing all of her test tissue cells. A bad thing you would think but it worked against infected cancerous cells too……
Lets hope that Ms Shaefer remembered what her screw up was and how to screw up again!! Of course by her screw up and the potential hope she gave to cancer patients, probably pissed off the large pharmaceuticals who make tons of money from the business of cancer.
I really hope she remembers that screw-up! Yea, so the pharmaceuticals may be a little annoyed, but anyone who wants to milk a horrible disease and its sufferers for all they're worth deserves to be annoyed.
Zero: Republicans blocked a full-fledged Senate debate over Iraq on Monday, but Democrats vowed they still would find a way to force President Bush to change course in a war that has claimed the lives of more than 3,000 U.S. troops.
Hero: Cary team produces a $12 Dortitos superbowl ad. The money was spent on the chips.
