Is it possible to ensure that people do not receive comment requests for images on which they have already commented (not necessarily in response to a comment request?

This should help to ensure that people really do get additional comments since requesting comments from people who've already done it is unlikely to be helpful. It also runs the risk, I would think, of annoying people and perhaps making it more likely that they will ignore future requests.

I don't know how large a problem this is, though, or how complex it would be to implement. I know it happens, but that might be very rare which would obviously mitigate against implementing a solution which would require a great deal of work.

Doing as you suggest would involve adding the ability to parse the commenters listed under the image and the subtracting them from the possibility of being selected in the random method employed now

while I would imagine that is possible .. you'll still have people annoyed in other areas of the site ... like odd sizes, image deletions, c-index cinders ... so it has been decided to leave it as is in the hopes that it'll be the straw that breaks the camels back and renders the member to a giggling mass of jello

thus relieving stress ... and allowing them to start over

But what if the victim happens to be vegan? Given the aversion to jelly ("jello" in the US), will she just disappear in a puff of smoke? If that's the plan, it doesn't seem to be working...

I don't think what you are suggesting would be possible without leaving a cookie on the members computer which specified which images they had had comment requests for? But I don't know that much about programming so I could be wrong.

Can it be a chocolate chip one Samm-o? ;=)
