something about the fourth one caught my eye. the first three look a bit dull, not much going on. seeing the space needle through the branches lends a very 'real' feel to the shot, and gives the viewer more to ponder.
Hi,my name is Rob..ok, so I'm not the greatest at replies and comments. Sorry. For anyone needing to contact me, my email is back up in my profile. >> my cluttered mess of a gallery
Caveat: I know _nothing_ about photography. Zilch. Except I understand you press a button or something. Have even done that. Problem as I understand it is that I need to aim the camera first... Half-way there...
At this size, I actually like 3. Except that the main subject (round tower thing?) is a distraction rather than the focus. Could be wrong about intended subject, though.
I also like the fourth, but probably only if it was bigger. I like the contrast between the trees and the tower. It seems more "complete" somehow.
I think I like the first one the least. It just seems boring. Though I could be persuaded to like the second the least as it seems to have two subjects competing for attention rather than complementing each other.
Feel free to ignore my comments since I speak out of ignorance unlike the other people here. I'm saying it only because you mentioned the "general population" and I feel I qualify in this context! Not sure that's what you meant, though...
I personally like the 4th one (with the trees) the most. I'm planning on enlarging one of these photos up to 16x20in (i'm just waiting to buy some large enough trays), so imagine the photo at that size.
What have I learned? Every1 has different tastes! I thought one of use (moreover my dad) has bad taste...guess not. :(
I like #4 as well...it just works well with the view of the tower in portrait. The tower feels small in landscape. The addition of the trees is nice, but #4 would still win without the trees.
I'm asking just to settle an 'argument' with my dad - which of the 4 images is the worst (based on the general population) and which is the best?
both of us are stuborn on our opinions...we need a mediator.
If you see anything to comment on, i'd like to hear, but not necessarily the purpose of this thread (but i still like consturctive criticism). :)
