This would probaly be a far-fetched-pipe-dream (and I'm probably not the first to bring this up)...and it would probably take a couple of years just to put together...but how about an International Caedes Convention?
I think it would be great (if it could actually be pulled off) ...for a good number of the members of the Community to get together in one of the major "world core cities" (i.e. London, New York, Paris, or Tokyo)...just to interact IRL (in real life)...and share ideas, or just to meet one another in person...

Mmm... I suggest South Africa as venue. With the local currency being R7.30/$1, R14.20/Pound and R9.72/Euro it should be affordable for most people. Just don't try to buy any electronics here!

Some pretty good cities here in New Zealand - maybe not "world core" but . . . .
would save me some airfares :)
Noah your Antartica idea is not so bad - they are doing some wonderful cruises down there at the moment - something different :) and not many saying "ho Hum, been there, done that"
I recently saw a display of photos from there at Christchurch Art Gallery by Craig Potton, NZ's top landscape photographer - called Floating On ice - absolutely stunning.

The Antarctic Arts Fellow Programme has given a number of New Zealand artists the privilege of visiting Antarctica :)
