Morat's Assignment #2

.Morat

Those who took part in the first assignment showed that they clearly knew where the basics on their cameras are. I expected no less :)

The second assignment is all about one specific element of composition - repetition. Paul Hardcastle knew how important it was when he penned n-n-n-nineteen, tv stations have been living off it for years, and yes even photographers like a bit of it too.

Your assignment, should you choose to accept it, is to capture an image clearly showing repetition as a principle element of composition. This post will self-destruct in 5 seconds. This post will self-destruct in 5 seconds. This post will self-destruct in 5 seconds. See how easy it is? :)

I thought we were supposed to submit new works? ;)

Anyway, I submit Concrete Zebra for your consideration.

Yes, you're right Canuck. But why not showing ancient uploads?
It can lead new images...

I was inspired by those great stone archway pictures to go and create a counterpoint. I took walkway when I went shopping.

Silent Shakers is great. I really like the muted colours.

I'd like to submit this one as a somewhat abstract repetition or this one as a more concrete example.

Both good images Alexis, Shadow Talk wins it for me. I love abstract and almost-but-not-quite monochrome images. You've got both in one :)

Me too, I love Escher's work. For some reason that made me think of carbon nanotubes. Not that I've ever seen one :).

This assignment's been running for a couple of weeks now so I'm planning on closing it after the weekend. It's a bank holiday here in the UK so you've got 3 days off to find some more repetition!

I've decided to leave this assignment open for a little while longer just in case anyone else wants to post. It's not quite the right time to close it just yet...

I'll leave you with a last bit of rep-rep-repetition from my hols. Slurp.
