What is up with this voting crap???
Fact is I do vote....but evidentally not enough to satisfy...someone???
I cant get three images in without this damm nag screen.This is a really great site(dont get me wrong)but these kind of tactics suck!..I didnt even know I was supposed to vote,until it came up the first time(sorry-I felt guilty for all the nice images ive taken for my desktop-I thought damm,I better get voting!!)
But now its getting to be a pain in the ass-Why cant you rate the images based on download stats.?

BTW, no one is forcing you to vote. It would be nice of you, but you are by no mean obligated to vote at all.

I dont know I guess its a peav of mine,it reminds me of shareware,like this screen wont leave until I buy the full version-whats funny is they dont even want money!!!

You have to vote for 1 out of every 5 images that you download. I guess beowoulf has never gotten the nag message because he's been doing his civic duty. =)

Basically, I'm requiring voting because it is needed for us to be able to properly organize all the images that we get. Thanks for the question.

Grrr... I just d/led about 15 images without voting and got NO nag message... are mods exempt or something?? Or have I just voted soo much in the past that I need to d/l a lot to catch up?

Could anyone explain the issue here? I always thought of voting as a privilege, not a right. And certainly not a burden.

Haha, I've got the screen once (and only once)... At least I think that this "Nag Message" will help c-index out.. Now there will have to be a vote applied with a download.. So this kind of makes the c-index a bit fairer! I say keep this installed! (not that anyone was wanting to uninstall it..)

I've never gotten it either... and I've definitely downloaded more than 5 images. Perhaps... oh, is it a pop up? I have pop up blocker.

I've only gotten the screen a few times and to CC when the screen appears if you read the fine print it explains that Caedes Cadre people are exempt from voting :)

I got the Nag Message. From that time on I vote. But I agree whit Macattack. This voting forcing system for that ranking sucks. If people need this competition that bad I bet there wil be users/members that manipulate rankings of other members picture. So the voting results are not acurate or even fair. The problem is that these kinda people wil download there own pix very often in case there is only a ranking by download stats. Cause of all this theory i must admit that my votes are getting less seriuos. Who hase a better solusion ? Maybe Caedes gets intested.

it isn't for competition. It is so that I have a statisically relevant sample size when I decide which images get to stay on the site. If only two people vote on an image, that's not enough to base a decision like that on.

I know caedes, but this competition thing, might users do by them selves, there is no controle.

And the vote thing is anoying. In my case I just wanne get it away as quikly as possible. What might happen is that people pick a random picture and pick a random vote quikly just to get it away the next 5 pictures they download. That would make the voting statistics not very accurate. The download stats can only be very accurate because its pure intrest.

Are the benefits from the voting system that big? Wouldn't it bee a bigger benefit making this site less anoying?
