Anyone else found that their Nikon does not recognize a bluey/purple? I have some wonderful irises - definitely purple, but the results turn out blue. Only time I've noticed it. Anyone else found the same?
I don’t think its only Nikon that is afflicted by that problem. If you purchase a grey card and use it to set a custom white balance you should overcome the problem.
or try using the 'curves' in photoshop or equivelent to adjust colors.
and...if you don't wanna buy a grey card, etc etc, then just try to use a single type of light source (eg. sunlight). Mixing light sources (including flash) makes the camera go koo koo.
If you use RAW, Photoshop CS2 and CS3 have 'Red/Cyan' tweaks that I "believe" are used to fix this common camera problem in the RAW editor that pops up when you open an image.
CSpringer’s freeware Digital Grey Card works very well on many photos. You get it from Action Central. It’s probably the best colour correction tool I have used but like all automated colour correction schemes it is a bit hit and miss. And it only works in Photoshop.
Nothing is as quick as getting it right when you make the exposure. The grey card is an expensive piece of cardboard but it’s the best value piece of cardboard I ever bought. It saves me heaps of time in Photoshop.
Oops that action has been removed you could try Kent’s Colourcast fix from the same page.
