First of all, I noticed quite some time ago that all posted times seem to be in what I can only describe as military time, ie 9:00 is listed as 21:00 and so on. Is it just me, or is this becoming rather annoying, since I'm not in the military, and not in the habit of having to convert times every time I read a message. I've tried editing my time settings in my profile to no avail.
Secondly, whatever happened to the search images box that used to appear at the page bottom in every gallery. Has this been changed? It makes it very difficult to find a particular certain type of image, sometimes I like to search by author, but that's very hard to do too. If the person's not in my friend's list it's almost impossible. Just wondering, it just seems like with the few improvements that have been made around here lately key features and components are getting screwed up or lost altogether.

Larry, I'm not sure what to tell you about Question #1, but for Question #2, I've always just typed the person's user name in "wallpaper search" under "navigation" on the left. Ditto for types of images.
Ohhh! There it is, for some reason, I was thinking the wallpaper search used to be on the bottom left of the page whenever you were in a gallery. Maybe I was mistaken.

# 2... Also, go to your page & up at the top just substiture your user name for whoever you're looking for. Such as ---> http://www.caedes.net/Zephir.cgi?lib=Profile&username=laurengary .... replace my name with... oh, I don't know, MoeAction for instance, if you're looking for Randy. And don't have his number maybe. ;o)
And as for the time .... thank you God I thought it was only me. I hate the Military time thingy, but I wouldn't hate it quite so much if I didn't have to edit my profile every time I'm on. I got so tired of it I gave up.

1) .. fairly recently, *caedes changed the TIME aspect of the site to read it from your system settings instead of expecting people to figure out how many time zones they were from Tennessee .. (*not a problem for those of us 2 zones away .. more so for those across the various ponds of the world)
why it is military time? .. we traded one quirk for another .. keep up
2) .. about a month before the new size allowances there were a few subtle changes to the gallery display pages .. and the 'nerfing' of the search was just one of those
sometimes .. just sometimes, mind you .. *caedes doesn't realize he left something off, and it doesn't hurt to mention it on the bugsquash forum

Noah, I never asked you how to figure out the differences in the time formats. I'm smart enough to do that on my own, thank you. All I'm saying is I shouldn't have to, It's a pain.

"As for the military time thing, I already have given up," and, "I never asked you how to figure out the differences in the time formats." - I misunderstood...or misread...again. :(

1.) I don't mind the military time dealie, or at least I wouldn't if, for instance I could change it in my Edit Profile & have it stay that way.
1A.) If this is a job for the bugsquash forums, coolness, I'll pop right over.
2.) Thank you Noah for clueing me in on the times. I'm reasonably capable of figuring out that 3 hours past 12 P.M. means it's 15:00, however I would prefer seeing the time on my page say 3:47 P.M. But thank you for your time & effort.
Thanks Lauren, but I can't find any way at all to edit my profile so that I can read normal (non military) times on this site. I'll bring it up in the bugsquash forums if noone else has yet. Noah, I'm sorry about going off on you, but when I said I had given up, I was referring to the inability to change the format. I have known for years how to do the conversions, I just don't think it should be necessary on an art forum. After all, as I said, I'm not in the military. =PPP

You're right Larry & I was wrong. I must've been thinking of the time format thingy, sorry. Though I could've sworn there was talk somewhere about being able to change that. I'm really sorry guys, my mistake.

This is not the "military time", but the "international time".
A day counts 24 hours, not 12 + 12. Logical, not?
This form is used in many countries, outside USA. Same for the date...

It’s that exact soulless and egocentric attitude that makes this place what it is today. A shadow of its former self – still it’s good that we can all laugh about it I guess.
** Braces floor for the next, and sadly inevitable, foot stamping session **
yep thats the ticket. It also helps that people recognise that changes however small are often made to facilitate the better running of the site either logistically or in the name of uniformity and accept them as that rather than getting totally bent out of shape over inconsequential and trivial matters that are meant to improve rather than detract from the experience here for visitors as a whole over the personal preference of individuals.
Phil, I apologize deeply. I feel just terrible that you didn't realize my last comment was meant as a joke. If you would prefer, I'd be happy from now on to end all my joking comments with either a j/k as Les has been known to do, or a simple ***joke***. Please let me know, okay ?
And I deeply resent being called both "souless & egocentric" as I am neither. Nor do I appreciate being labelled as juvenile & immature. I have never stamped my feet in my life. If you had bothered to try & get to know me you would know that.
Nor am I "totally bent out of shape over inconsequential & trivial matters that are meant to improve rather than detract from the experience here for visitors as a whole over the personal preference of individuals." I'm sorry you see it that way. Larry brought up a point & I happened to agree with him. Why all the resistance to this ? Does it effect you personally ? Not that I can see. Though there is the chance that I'm just not bright enough to understand some things since my joking comments were so dim as to not be understood.
Lastly, may I congratulate you on your magnificent run on sentence ? It was subtle, witty, brillant, delicately snide & softly sarcastic. Sliding home with all the lethalness of a stiletto between the ribs. Bravo !!
I still don't understand why you're so irritated with me. So, now I'm soulless and egocentric? I thought all I did was make a request and you lambasted me from the beginning. You seem to think I'm selfish and ignorant for even suggesting such a thing and I don't feel it's justified. You refused to see my point of view, I do realize the time format change was seen as a way of improving things, but for me personally, I prefer the old format.

Geeez.. all this pityful arguing over time... hate to burst your bubbles but... time doesnt change whether its in 12 hour or 24 hour format.. day is day .. night is night.. I can't see why this had to turn into another "your-an-idiot-for-asking-a-question" campaign.. it was a simple question that once again turned into arguing...
no wonder new members won't ask questions or even participate in threads when they see older members who ask questions (and i'm not just refering to this thread.. there are many many others) get shot down in flames and belittled in front of the community...
Everyone has their own preferences... not everyone "thinks" they know everything or that their way is the right way...
A bit of consideration to other members who ask a question would bring the new members to participate more...
