Which program is the most common for creating the abstract wallpapers?? I have some experience with Photoshop but that seems unlikely for a lot of the things I've seen....

It depends on what kind of abstract your wanting to create... I use Apophysis and Tierazon, sometimes Ultra Fractal and Mind Boggling Fractals

The ones Jacqueline mentioned are great, I use them all except for Ultra Fractal. FTP, Xaos and Fractal Explorer are great programs too. If you can't find them just ask. I can hook you up with DL links, at least for the ones I mentioned.
