I login here to upload or look around, I comment on pictures I like. The whole comment requests is really annoying, sure some people may not get enough comments, but nobody always does.
Every time I login here I have a new comment request, (Especially when I login more often and am more active). I'm not interested in commenting on pictures by request, therefore they do nothing but irritate me. Is there no way to turn that functionality of?
A comment request is generated by the site, not sent by users. It is generated because the image does not have enough comments on it. You should at least make an attempt to comment on one every now and then, this is a community after all and everyone should try to contribute in some small way...
*You will have noticed that I haven't been commenting as much on your fine images!..This is because of the pains in my hands!..the constant use of the keyboard, makes this difficult..so, my dear friends..I can only apologise to you all in advance!*

You should at least have a look at the pictures, it may not be your area of expertise, but you can have a go at commenting, even if you don't like the picture too much leave a constructive comment on how you think it can be improved.
Its not compulsory to comment on a request.. you can ignore it or you can just delete it... but...
I personally think that comment requests should be commented on after all we are a community, we are here to encourage, critique, and be fair to the artist.. So what if you dont happen to like that "Style" of art.. i'm sure you can pick out at least one thing about it.. even if its just the colour, its a start... I noticed one of your images "Highway to the sun" has few comments on it, i'm sure one of "us" will get this in the comment request, think about how you feel without getting any response.. I also noticed that it took awhile for someone to comment on it and from your own comments you were not too happy... same feeling for those artists that you received the comment request for and didnt comment...
I'm not the type of guy to comment on anything anywhere unless I'm blown away by something.
I don't really consider myself part of the community other than uploading one or two things a year. I used to spend a lot of time here, but I find that the quality of many of the images here just don't meet the standards of other places.
Just wondered if there was anyway to turn the annoying thing off. Sure I like comments, but I don't really mind if I don't get any as I like my work regardless of what people have to comment on it, as does everyone else.
1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
2 eggs
2 pinches kosher salt
Freshly grated nutmeg
For 1 Refrigerator Pie:
1 frozen 9-inch pie crust
Any one of the following combinations:
Cooked spinach, cheddar cheese, cubed cooked ham
Bacon, Sauteed leeks, and Gruyere cheese
Cooked spinach, canned artichoke hearts, and Parmesan cheese
Roasted chicken, goat cheese, and sun-dried tomatoes
Blanched asparagus and smoked salmon
Port Salut and Spam
In a nonreactive, stainless steel bowl, combine the cream or half-and-half and the eggs. Whisk until combined thoroughly. Add the salt and the nutmeg. Whisk to combine.
Refrigerator Pie Rules: Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Evenly distribute the pie fillings in the pie crust. Do not overfill the crust with the filling ingredients. Do not pour too much royale into the crust. The eggs will expand upon cooking. Bake the pie until it is firm to the touch like set Jell-O, about 45 minutes. Cool the pie for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
If your not part of the community and you think the work on here is "below standard" why are you still here... dont take that as your not wanted here.. I'm just wondering why...
It's understandable that from first glance it may appear that there are not as many awesome images. But, as the site has grown I'd be curious as to whether or not that proportion of great versus mediocre images has changed ... if at all.
Think about it. It will make sense on statistical grounds.
One mans meat is another man’s mediocre, beauty is in the eye of the beholder etc etc... Whilst yes, a lot of dross makes it through the net here, it isn’t nearly as much as the other image dumping grounds on the net. The sheer volume of people who constantly try to undermine caedes and steal its works pays testament to that. The whole point of this site is that it is a community and it is here to foster growth and support amongst its members. If people choose to ignore that aspect of it, then that is strictly their business. By the same token, you either take it at its face value and except that or you don’t.
lol, I did not doubt the community is great. I just said "many" of the pictures aren't the same quality as other places. But many are, then again, I see some of them before they land on caedes too. Either way, thanks for answering my question/s.
Too many big words for my liking, and I apologise for the people like me who bring the quality of images on the site down :P
And go Brits :D
I have to say, I think most of the images on this site (excluding mine) are of excellent quality, and because we work as a community, the not so experienced people (like me) are improving a lot thanks to the extended knowledge of everyone else.
And then there are random gems like this. I just saw this on the new images page, and have no idea what is going on.

Hope this was an ok section to post this.
