This picture is an effort of mine to 'try something different' following a discussion in another thread. Originally it was green ferns growing against a cream wall in my garden. My first intention was to create some silver ferns, they being the emblem of New Zealand. Couldn't do it :) Yet.
Anyway I thought the b/w looked alright and recived some favourable comments. Like most people I enjoy favourable ones, but am interested to hear some criticism, opinions, suggestions for improvement, especially from those who voted low on it, resulting in a c-index of 33.I was hoping for an average score of perhaps 50 or so, but my hopes were too high. Back to landscapes and flowers?
Open to any thoughts, any kind, even unkind :)
TIA
I would've given it a 7. It has good lighting, good use of levels, good framing (professional looking), simple, not too busy, close, but not too close, etc...
In this case I think it's simply a case that b&w images aren't as popular as colorful ones for desktops which might be how most voters are viewing it, regardless of artistic merit. Proboably similar in the way that many people would prefer color TV or movies over b&w, even if the story in the color movie is rubbish...
