"(You should join photography clubs, but never camera clubs or any clubs that try to score art, since art is entirely subjective and cannot be scored numerically.)"
I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.

That was certainly thought provoking, and fun, to read. As a writer I have to suggest the comparison between camera and photograph and typewriter and story is faulty. The camera equipment actually alters the information that enters that lens, I think this is more true of digitals than film cameras, what with software algorithms and all that coming into play. The typewriter does not alter what's in my head when I type a story, the exact words in my head end up on the page, I literally see the words in my head and they are exactly the words the typewriter reproduces. But my disagreement with this example doesn't invalidate his argument, nor indicate I don't agree with him. I do, but that won't stop me lusting after handier tools. :)
