i'd stay clear of the beta for now - it's not nearly as impressive as they would have you believe - or as fast - and all this coming from a mac man :-)

Well, from what I can gather Safari isn't to be recommended, even on a Mac! However that's just the general opinion on the web, since I haven't ever used it I can't vouch a personal opinion except that Firefox is all I really need!

It is lean, and standards-compliant. That's all that matters to me.

I found when I was downloading clip art, Safari was the only browser that knew how to open the files - Firefox and iCab were so puzzled they didn't even say anything. Apart from that, I do tend to use Firefox - just out of habit!

I've always used Safari and found it to be quite adequate to satisfy my needs. I tried Firefox once and it stuffed up after a few days so now I just stick with old faithful.

The clip art file extension is .cil - downloaded from the Microsoft Clip Art/Media site.
I tried it again just now - Safari delivers it to my desktop in a usable state, but Firefox makes a meal of it - not sure why.
