How do you get it to stop autofilling and just do the outline with the texture you chose? I have CS2.

there are 3 little icons on the top bar when you have the pen selected that let you choose between shapes, paths or fills

I tried playing around with them, but it wouldn't do anything except fill.

the pen either creates vectorised shapes, open paths or filled paths. if you are wanting to apply a texture or pattern etc you first have to draw an open path then select the brush tool you want and on the path pallette select the path you drew and hit the stroke icon on the bottom of the palette
