I would really like to see a new gallery entitled "Paintings" or maybe "Art".
This would be for literal canvas paintings or drawings, I'm not sure what would be the correct title, but it would be great to have this for all the artists, and even tho photographers are artists too, I'm talking about people who draw or paint or sketch etc. When I try to post canvas art there really isn't a gallery to post them in other than "General."

You could post them in the ILLUSTRATIONS gallery... when you upload click on select gallery and if you look you will see under HOLIDAYS is ILLUSTRATIONS.. that covers all type of drawings, paintings etc..
and if you look on the left panel under galleries you will see that there is already an ILLUSTRATIONS gallery..

oh .. people who do real art .. I see

The process for requesting new galleries is to find (and LINK) to about 30 examples, in order to prove that there is a need

these examples need to come from the permanent galleries only

I don't think another gallery is needed the illustration gallery covers all types of drawings,paintings etc.. on all types of canvas/papers..

Now, while most of these are from the illustrations/traditional gallery, they're mixed in in a hodgepodge of digital and handmade works. Personally I think that if you do decide to add a new gallery, maybe put it underneath the illustrations catagory, and label it "handmade" or something like that.

I can add more examples, but this should cover it for starters. Right now I have to get some english work done...

as has been said before - the illustrations/traditional gallery covers all of this. the idea is to make navigating galleries as easy as possible and not to dilute them with unnecessary additions. with less than a 100 permanent images already in there, there is little point subdividing it still further at this juncture I would have thought.

The reason these images are "mixed in in a hodgepodge" is most likely because the person didn't label them correcty when they uploaded the image, meaning the mod had to try and determine whether the illustration is digital or traditional.

"Traditional" and "Handmade" to me would be pretty much the same thing.

Hmm..when I finally get a scanner I can upload some art.
It's been a while but I tend to do a fair bit of watercolour and sketching.
