adobe photoshop or microsoft digital image? they both have similar features and cost about the same.

If they actually cost about the same then I'd say Photoshop wins hands down.

the one i saw @ cosco was photoshop elements and photoshop album i think.

When I saw photoshop I thought you were talking about Photoshop 7 or CS. Had to check out what Digital Image was and then determined by your comment on the price that you must have been talking about Photoshop Elements. I would go with Photoshop Elements personally;-)

I only have experience with Photoshop 6, so I'm not sure what they take out to make "Elements". Adobe does make a quality product though.

elements is really meant for amateur photographers to tweak there images and for the money is a bargain but isnt really the creative tool it's big brother is. Full blown Photoshop is still pretty much peerless and the latest incarnation - CS - is a quite significant and welcome upgrade.

I think Paint Shop Pro from Jasq is easier to start.
