lots more Nikon PR spin me thinks - the percentage is usually based on camera models in the top ten sales list and yes nikon always have more models in the list - they always conveniently forget to mention other pertinent facts like that in the last 12 months, Canon sold more EOS 400's/Rebel XTi's than the entire Nikon range of DSLRS combined.
Nikon may well have had more sales in the first quarter of this year but you also have to factor in that Canon have had no new models for quite some time and anyone wanting one probably already has bought one. the real test will come later in the year when Canon launch a replacement for the 30D, 5D and 1DS MK II and Nikon release their replacement for the 200 and D2X.
After all the reviews I read I believe im going to be getting the Nikon D80 instead of the Canon XTi. Hopefully will be getting it soon. Right now im using a Polaroid i832.
Yes Im hoping that the new models come into the revolutionary rather than evolutionary zone. The 30D replacement in particular will have to pull out all the stops and be reasonably priced to be truly competitive. If it is little more than a rebodied 400D, I dont think that will be enough.
