I found this image the other day and I cannot see how this is possible...Its not a special image or its not even wallpaper or anything, i just figured if anybody would know if it had been altered, some of you guys would know. Give me your opinions...

fake ... you could not control the bike at that altitude

highly illegal in most states from a safety point of view to have them above shoulder height (I believe) .. some outlaw bikers have the mechanism bolts loose enough so that they can lower them to legal limits when they see an officer of the law .. ;)

by the way, they're called "ape-hangers"

I was thinkin' more along the lines of,

"hey Shaq, love the bike, man!"

or

"gee, Dad..when I'm older can I have one like this too?"

lol.. i just had this image of that guy getting off the bike after a days ride.. walking around bent over with his butt out and arms outstretched... lol.. *sorry* It's not fake but why on earth would you buy a bike with handle bars that high, your arms would get tired.. at least if he got pulled over and the police say "put your hands up" he won't have a problem they are already there...

I just want to know how tragic it would be if his girlfriend was on there & decided to tickle him right about then ?

I want to know how the heck he's able to steer and actually control the bike that way. Doesn't look as if he'll have much control.

Fake. Some easy riders do have high handles but that's just daft.

It looks like an untouched photo. However you would have to have a death wish to ride like that.

I think I would invest in some pit protectors. Damn those bumble bees would leave a mark.

Did anyone notice the sign behind the rider? In Missouri of course!! That is where I live and we do have many of these ape-riders blowing along the highways and by-ways.This image is definitely NOT PhotoShopped. I have seen them with my own eyes. :(

Actually that is what got an additional laugh out of me Mimi.

I believe the sign states; "Missouri Department of Transportation District Office".

Which lead me to initially believe that possibly ... possibly ... it could have been photoshopped. Too much coincidence.

But ... now I know. ;o)

not photo shopped, those are 38" bars with 11 1/2" risers, suicide clutch and a 102yr old faucet handle ( Im a master plumber in St. louis mo)as my shifter, Ive been going taller and taller with the bars cause i like reachin, and yes I can jockey around drunks at parties and handle my bike better than most, myself and some good friends rode from springfield mo. to chicago then all the way around lake michigan in august of 08. and there called REAL APEHANGERS
