3 hours ago I uploaded a picture, it has had 17 views and 9 downloads. 15 minutes later I uploaded a second one which has had 26 views and 19 downloads .

Yes, you guessed - the first one was a flower !!

now be fair the second one is a lot more dramatic or should I say has a lot more drama going on to attract the attention :-)

perhaps you could try a sneaky test using another inanimate still life against a flower in a similar composition - results could be interesting....

Well Phil - sometimes flowers 'win'. On 9/11 I uploaded Peace Bell ( I thought it was appropriate for the date - I also thought it was unusual architecture, of general interest and something a bit different, also not such a terrible picture- it bombed out at c-index 29 with 53 views and 27 downloads (as of now). Uploaded at the same time my picture of a hyacinth flower has 79 views 47 downloads and c-index 75.
Good idea about the still life though - may just give that a try :) I suspect a few raindrops on it may help :) although they did not help Spring Shower - I am really disappointed in its 35 - I think it is worth more, comparing it with other flower shots of my own. But thems the breaks !


correction: the hyacinth is now 73
