I guess this is mainly a question for caedes. I noticed that two of my photos are now in the top new images on the main page. Both of these photos are no longer new images, i submitted them a while back. In fact both of them have been moved to new galleries. How does this list work? Is this an error, or is there some sort of time algorithm it goes by?

I noticed this too with one of mine and some others that were no longer in the new image gallery. Before the last software update I noticed that images were automatically removed from that list 5 days after they are first posted. I guess now that time limit has been increased much beyond 5 days? I almost posted the question myself... Just curious :)

The images are moved to the permanent galleries manually by the mods, as far as I am aware. I think this is done on a pretty much ad hoc basis.

As for the criteria for the top new images, I really don't know. Presumably 'new' means that they were posted within the last 'x' number of days, regardless of whether they have been moved to a permanent gallery. I'm just guessing, though.

Those images are chosen automatically from all images uploaded in the last two weeks (though I can change the interval).
