Pierre was just replaced from his loooooooooong reign at the top spot in the author list. I thought it would probably happen one day, but still... Pierre and Darryl, two of Caedes' best. Kudos to both of you! =D

I agree Joost...it just happens. It is just the amounts of pictures basically that determines the list. Maybe we could have the author list sorted by a few different ways. Sort by alphabetical, # of posts, # of images, etc.

Speak for yourselves... I am gunning for the top dog position... woe betide he who stands in my way!!

Seriously though... Darryl I recall that suggestion has been made before... not sure if it was ever added to the dev site though. Might be worth a try.

So, the most number of top rated is not the determining factor? I was wondering about this a week or so ago when I was going through images from the bottom of the author list on up to view what I hadn't seen before I joined the site or missed, etc. We have over half with only one image in them and many with last visits being ages ago (long goners so to speak). The rest on up certainly seemed to be number of posts oriented. My favorite authors are way up there for the most part anyway, but I would think this would be yet another reason it's so hard to get control over number of posts per day. Sixty a month for some could be a real benefit in that regard but certainly add to an already overwhelming topic on here pertaining to lack of image view time, etc. I also make regular house-cleaning visits to my own gallery but this could discourage others from doing so and put all that load and decision making on the mods.

BJ, the position in the list is determined on an average c-index basis. There is a post where caedes explains the formula but I don't understand it. Generally the more images you have the higher in the list you will be, but only if the majority of them are rated fairly highly.

caedes said the images werent based on average c-index. they were based on total c-index. He recently changed the formula to total c-index squared, this way the rating of the images becomes more important. With the list based on total c-index, this brings the biggest contributors to the front, rather than the highest c-indexes :)
