Apart from the widely varied tastes of the site, since these scored sort of low, I was wondering if someone wouldn't mind helping me see through different eyes. Any pointers, preferences, etc? Thanks in advance.
Hmmmm, well ok. This message thanks to the Big Rock Brewery. Hey Rob, staring aT bLAZING pUDDLE. It looks like it has some heavy manipulation. I can't really focus on a subject as my eyes wander around the image. Dappled Curve is good but I think needs color. I like the perspective. Whitehall is a good B/W with nice contrast.
Hey, you said "critical comment[s]"...Who better to answer than me (don't answer it)!?
Blazing Poodle: The posterization kills the image. I'd suggest avoiding stuff like that - use the gamut warning in photoshop (it's for printing, but I still use it anyways). I really think color is not the way to go - either muted colors with a few colors shifts or B&W or just normal colors....anything other than posterization will be better.
Dappled Curve: My previous comment was kindof harsh...so...I'll leave it blank for now.
Pier V2: Looks good. I think there is quite a bit of empty space...doesn't bother me though. I do think it lacks 'depth' though...but that doesn't really bother much much either. It's good; I can't really suggest anything.
Actually, Noah, yours were the type of comments I was seeking.* When I post something it's because I'm proud of it, I enjoy it, and I feel it's the best I can make it. That's not to say I don't miss a detail here and there, or misjudge the level of reception an image will receive. So that's why I started this thread, to see what I missed.
