Why are some people photos rejected and some not?

I was wondering about something. There are a lot of animal//pet shots on here, and they are cute etc. but not really wallpaper material IMHO. And there is a heading for self portraits, why would anyone wish to post on their computer photos of people they do not know? I have posted photos off and on that I felt were of interest, such as the baby twins in a basket I posted a few years ago, and recently I tried to post a photo of an Autumn coloured tree with two children in it. I chose that photo because I felt it showed the feeling of Autumn. Yes, they were my grandchildren, but you could barely see their faces, they were well hidden in the colourful tree, but it was refused to be posted. It doesn't bother me, but it seems a bit strange due to the fact of the self portraits and the pets, arent those a bit "out of line" for a wallpaper posting too? Just a thought. Not a complaint.Don't get me wrong, I dont mind not posting them....Any thoughts on this by anyone?

As has been explained before, self portraits are there as part of the community aspect of the site for people to put faces to names. A major aspect of the sites snaps policy however is that the site shouldn’t be used for sharing family photos. Yes, images like this do get through occasionally but that is due to the uploaders ignoring the sites policy rather than an official sanction to allow it.
