Its Not Easy Being Green

Kermit knows that:)

I would like some honest opinions on this 44 c-index scoring image.
No, I am not bothered about the c-index, gave that up. I am pleased with the favourable comments it recieved (and no, they are not from kind well wishing friends, at least 6 are not)
In fact I am quite happy with the image itself, and have no wish to mess with it. I like it, people who commented liked it. I would like to hear from those who did not, and know why it scored poorly.
I did not expect a 70 or 80 but did not expect a 44 either :)
Just curious.
And a bit green

And that is all that matters, Lyn!
Everybody likes his own image!, but when some one does not like
it (nobody will tell you that in a comment),but the VB is not personal, and if the C-index is 'low', we are all disapointed!
But, o.k, you ask for commenting!
I think your image is not a great shot! (a 13 in a dozen,shot!)
It is not a 'WOW! factor' shot! ,It is more or less a 'dull' image!
But this is my opinion!
Disapointed?
John

But thanks John

Got any spare "wow"?

:) :)

Any suggestions as to how it may have been improved?

Haha, it has some great qualities. For me (that is not for all;-), the composition could be a little stronger. I imagine a little less sky. The scenery is great as are the colors. The result in my mind would be a panoramic rather than something that fits the desktop. It would certainly need to be blown up and framed on the wall. And it definitely looks better than all the snow that I am waking up to;-)

OK Darryl, just happens that I have a pano version which I did at the same time. About to upload it and see how it fares. I dont think it has much wow either but will be interesting to compare the two.

You have snow - keep warm
Tis Spring here but snow forcast down to 300m tomorrow - more like winter.

Thanks :)

Well Lyn, who knows the vagaries of voters? I have stopped trying to figure it out. In fact sometimes I even forget to check the C-Index I got. My photo
Exotic
received with 12 votes a score of 28! It means some had given it a 2! Is it fair? No - but you can't expect fairness everywhere. That photo at least now reached 41. There are no explanations why some give you low points.

Raj, to be honest, a C-index of 42, is not bad for your image 'Exotic' ! What score did you expect?
The top of the flower is missing in the image
The petals in front of the flower are blurry
The background is overexposed
A little selfcritic doesn't hurt!

P.S
I did not had it in the VB!

"A little selfcritic doesn't hurt!"

Amen. Hopefully we can all be strong, and mature here. The recipient (ingeneral..not singling out Raj here)needs to heed honest critique without lashing out,and the critic needs to offer an honest, constructive opinion.

Just my 2 cents...

Hey John, I am quite satisfied with 41 or even less. I only said that some must have given it a 2 which I thought wasn't fair and that perhaps even you will agree.

I could not agree more whch is why I posted this thread. I said I am happy with the image and knowing why others are not goes a long way towards selfcriticism.
Rob, I have no desire to 'lash out', just to understand where the faults lie.

My other version, pano style, has received two 'wows' lol - My own choice between the two was for the standard size single shot one, just a personal choice. I predict they will both end up with similar scores but have been wrong before :)

No Lyn, wan't singling you, or anyone else out either. It does happen though, and I was just sort of saying it should stop.
