So basically the voting system is of no value and the photographs are promoted only if a senior member likes them or not,What's the point of the vote ?.
there are many factors that go into the decision to promote an image - technical quality, originality and uniqueness etc - you could have a fantastic image but if it's very similar to ones already in the gallery it was posted to, it diminishes it's chances of staying for example. the c-index is supposed to be a tool for artists to gauge other members opinions of a piece but it rarely pans out like that these days and is reserved as an object to obsess upon for the most part.
well ok but all i know is one or two of the images i uploaded when i first joined Caedes are in a permanent gallery,I would consider them a little sub-standard,Having gained a little more expertise I find it difficult to understand uploading what i consider superior images scoring in the higher eighties not getting a look in..But lets leave it at that...Richie.
Bit late on this one, but agree with you Richie. My highest c index ever is 79, yet I have 4 images in the permanent gallery (thank you it's an honour). The lowest of those images is 56! However, I understand what Phil is saying too.
