I can't resist posting this ... even though it is available through a link in a previous discussion about the Dodge and Burn Tone Tools.
The introduction states:

Lol ... not that long really, only 3 ... 3 pages of what I consider to be INVALUABLE information regarding this function of image editing and post work.
Thanks, have been looking at it. It says that every professional image editing package he's aware of has the Curves function... I've discovered so far that my Photoshop Elements 2.0 doesn't have it (unless it's well buried), whereas Paintshop Pro 7 (even older) definitely does. Hmm...
I did a little checking, it appears not to have been added until a later version. Probably because Elements has been marketed as the "i'm not a professional, I just wanna play a little" version of it's big brother. 8•)
