The shot linked below currently has a 53. It is what it is. What I'm seeking here, is insight as to what might be improved upon it, or what it's lacking. If it was just a difference in taste, well, I'll just take my lumps and go. Since it was one of my personal favorites, I'd really like to know if I'm just not "seeing" something. Thanks in advance.
well .. first off .. we ALL know, by now, that the 'ci' is a better indication of the "Coefficient of Inverse Intelligent Drag Factor"
hence, it drags everything DOWN down down
but .. since you are seeking other input, I would say:
a little shadowy\blotchy lighting, obscured signage .. something local to you can be re-shot .. hopefully that would be a waterfall in the various seasons, but we take what we can get, sometimes :)
try this .. go to the place, and meter the light on the walls in various places (try not to get arrested) ... and re-shoot using your new found data
ummm the signage is obscured with..a palm tree. in Florida. in Universal Studios. when/if I ever go back there, I'll certainly keep your advice in mind, my good friend.
thanks. took this with the aid of a stone wall*, and the camera's timer. Tilt didn't seem noticeable, and as for the color/focus..might be due to the slight oversaturation I'd treated this with for effect. Thanks Darryl
*I wasn't going to lug a $%!$%$ tripod around Universal Studios all day.. ya know? ;-)
The subject is excellent but I would have played with the exposure and contrast to try to eliminate the "muddy" blend of colors. Taking shots at night is difficult, but, this being a digital photo, you can improve it after the fact with slight adjustments.
And please...serious replies for this one.
