any suggestions for filters that might enhance the beauty of snow. i'm off to oregon to see the ocean and storm watch AND to see the snowy mountains. thanks.

Same for me: polarizing filter.
Also, I use Raw format. After, I edit in Lightroom with "High light Recovery" and "Fill light" settings.

The polarizer should cut some of the reflection off the snow as well. I would imagine that could be favourable.

Also don't forget some exposure compensation so the snow doesn't trick your meter into underexposing.
