Would it be possible to receive an automated notification when an image is selected for the Permanent Galleries?
There is one very thoughtful moderator who always leaves a comment on a chosen picture which is an indication but I have others go unnoticed, and I have missed out on 'grinning' time :)

grinning time doesn't expire .. you tell 'em I said so

Lyn, I'm certain you know this, but I'll say it anyway, in an effort to help you, and anyone else who might have a similar concern. Simply go to your Caedes Control, and select Gallery as the way your listed images are sorted. In each classification, images will be shown as one of three ways:

New images > Photography > Boats - This is a new image, or one that hasn't been slated to either the permanent gallery, or archived (only available for viewing in your gallery)

New images > Photography > Boats* - The asterisk (*) after the image means it's been archived.

Photography > Boats - The absence of the "New images" in the description indicates the image has been promoted to the Permanent Gallery

Within each category (Boats, as an example) the new images, and the archived images, will each be together in sub-groups. Permed images will be listed together, sorted by category, at the bottom.

Hopefully, this helps, in the event "grinning time" gets forgotten by some. Oh, and I've had a few images "grinned at" that got archived anyway... bah humbug :P

Yes Rob, I did know all that and I do it - it would just be nice to be informed all the same. Nothing important, was just a thought.
When images are made permanent it is a grinning occassion for most of us :) I had one that was permed and then unpermed without my having noticed the perm period - at my age I cant afford to lose any grinning time lol. <grin>


Edit: Yikes, I just went there - there has been an invasion of asterisks !! <grin> <grin>

you have to understand, when images are moved they are moved in sizable quantities .. the front page says, as of this moment in time, .. 117 new images today

images aren't moved daily .. more along the lines of weekly, biweekly, monthly (I have trouble being firm) ..

take two weeks .. 14 days x 117 images a day = bunches (1638) .. even if just your images are permed, then the +mod has to pen a few ditties .. recounting how, when he first saw it, how it reminded him of his youth .. blah blah blah


it makes for a long day .. +mods would be emotionally drained and wouldn't be as much fun as they are NOW

Thats why I suggested "automated" notifications :)
I dont know how these things work (obviously) but an automated notification arrives on here before I have even signed out of Paypal for my sub - I just thought it would be a press of a button.
We can't have you lot getting emotionally drained of course :) What we do without all the fun and joy you inject into the site between chores ! :)
I dont get many ditties :) ergo I remind no one of their youth - understandable lol.
As I said was just an idea - a mere thought - a whisp of imagination floating into my drained brain between checking my caedes control panel for stray asterisks.
I withdraw the suggestion on the grounds of insanity, and shall retire to my cc looking for grins. I cant hang around here all day, my days are too short, despite it being summer.
