My photo "The call of the wild" recieved a c-index of 92. Today it was archived, I thought it was a pretty good photo to use as a wallpaper. I guess the Mods are being a lot more critical. I am not complaing here, just would like a little feedback, also if someone would put a link to the photo I would appreciate it. Thank you, and have a nice day....Gregg.
Well, Greg, let me say, I am a fan of your bird shots .. and, I could be wrong but, it's possible that YOU are responsible for several others saying: "hey, there's a bird, that's certainly more of a challenge to shoot than this foofey ol' flower .. and if Greggo can do it, maybe I can too" ... and we now have several folks twisting their focus rings on our feathered friends
and .. therein lies the rub ..
the main criteria for showcasing an image is 'uniqueness', not c-index .. and with several members discovering their birds-of-prey sanctuaries in recent months .. the site has been seeing a lot of them ..
I did not archive your image .. but I would assume the reason can be found somewhere in the above preamble ... I, personally haven't agreed with a lot of the compositions for the raptor shots lately .. either showing me too much or not enough to satisfy my eye depending on the image ..
this particular shot is a fine specimen of an eagle quacking (they quack, right?) .. I think a tighter crop would have served it better
Thank you Keith for the info, I know what you mean about too many bird posts lately, that is why I have not posted any this week. When I do, I will try to make them more unique. Thank you for your honest opinion.
That's a deal Randy. But only post 1 photo a week, and make sure you make a tight crop to keep Special K happy.... Maybe I should not have given out my bird photo secrets, and posted a photo of my bird studio, not really, I know I have helped many here to take better bird photos, and that makes me feel proud. "That's all I have to say about that". Forrest Gump.
