Damn these images move to fast over so many pages.... ive just been going through and got to page 53 and still left comments on photos i missed... Some of us work and dont sit here all day looking at new images, then POOF they are gone down the page listing... My question is !!!!

Instead of 36 per page view can we have like 100 or 200 aswell ? Would dearly love to comment on more photos and help find an image which we commented on once b4....
Its not easy going through 73 pages

I think Ian is right. It would be nice to be able to view more per page than have to keep switching back to top. The more on a page, the merrier. Good idea Ian.

not sure that going through 1/3 the amount of pages, with 3X the amount of images per page would really solve anything. I'd recommend maybe trying to view less images per sitting, more frequently.

on a side note, even though I have a job, and work all day, I'm guessing that some might take offense to the suggestion that because they don't, they spend all day looking at the site because they've got nothing else to do.

Was trying to point out how that might be taken, nothing more.

As for catching up, I know several people fave images they want to comment on, and then go back, and go through their faves list at their leisure.

Maybe this might be a workable solution for you as well.

what is the difference between 1 page with 100 photos on it or 5 pages with 20 photos on it...I think on the pages with 20 photos you are able to see more of the beauty of some photos then you have a 100 in front of your nose, that is to much...er...well that is my opinion!! I only have a pages with 18 photos on it, 100 photos would be to much for me..but hey thats me..hehe

Ive been trawling through the new images lately and found some impressive images that i missed... So many artists are getting the odd one or two comments yet people on our 'friends list are getting loads'

Im currently viewing my screen at max 36 images per page and the latest image i found was on page 12... so much is being uploaded i CANNOT keep up..

I ( yes ME FRAGGY blah blah ) would like to have an option to display how many I ( yes ME FRAGGY blah blah ) view at a time.... i would like an option to view maybe 100 200 etc.... IM NOT SAYING give everyone that and get it done with...

Yes you might be happy with click after click after click on different pages BUT I would like to comment on other images that have simply past me by and ended up down amongst the rest of the images... I think its only fair that the NEWBS get a look in aswell as the established friends we ALL have on our list...

I thought about 50 images per page but it doesn't change a lot compared to 36 per page,i think that 100 per page is too much though so to be honest i'm not sure what the good choice is but some people prefer 36 per page and some others would like 100 per page,not so easy to decide.

I'm sorry maybe i'm just brain dead but I can't see what difference it would make going from 36 to 100 per page.. if you go to 100 per page the thumbnails would be so small you wouldn't see them properly and you would probably bypass more..

I work long hours and find 36 is a good size to see the images.. your still going to be commenting on the same amount of images that take the same amount of time so you'll still be clicking on images then clicking the back button to new gallery.. but I guess the number is a preference thing.

I think Ian has a feasible idea, just not sure about the amount on the page but I think his suggestion is worth considering. But I would not want the quality to fall to the wayside of the images to be viewed.

I would also prefer an option for a larger number of images per page. At the very least it would mean for me that I wouldn't have to spend as much time waiting for images to load while I went to the next page. This wouldn't effect anyone who didn't want to use it as it would just be added to the current list so I can't see any reason for objections.

Expanding this idea...what if you had the choice to only view images since your last visit. Hey, wouldn't that be slick;-)

I agree. It would be nice to be able to pick up where u left off. I just wish Caedes was more customizable to each user. So one could brows 100 or 10 images at a time if they please.

J... thumbnails dont change size !!!!!!!!!! Mayne idea is ok but i still dont want to have to trawl through pages from that drop down menu everytime..... Its just a thing for me.... You all seem to think i want it changed from 36 to 100 !!!!

To me the number of images on a page is nothing of consequence. It takes the same time to load x number of images regardless of how many pages they are spread over.

I usually sort them by date then go through them until I recognise a few from my last visit.

I Agree with you Ian. I have the same "problem". I think that 100 or 200 should just be another option people can choose, its just easier to see more photos that way(obviously). I think some people have misunderstood you.

I dunno - I think I'd be pretty frustrated if I made a simple suggestion/request that would be completely voluntary and got back some of the auto-resistance to an idea that I've seen on this thread. Of course I could just be in a state of inertia left over from dealing with 14-year-old's "I can do it if I want!" over and over again...

Ian chill please! I understand repeat frustration - did i mention the 14-year-old know-it-all yet? Despite the frustration, you'll get alot further if you grit your teeth and keep sailing calmly - lots of ice cream helps too. 8•D

Keith - yours is the 1st counter I've seen to say why it would be a bad idea rather than "why do you need to do that, you don't need to do that, try doing this this or this". Which is a pretty poor way to answer someone who believes they've found a logical conclusion to a problem for themselves that doesn't harm anyone else.

Some of the other expanded ideas make sense to me, I'd love the "new since your last visit" option personally.

Personally I have 12 images as my setting. The reason is that I hate scrolling. And going page by page I know I will not miss anything. I see nothing wrong with having an option to view 100 or more images per page...does not seem logical though as you will be scrolling more. Reminds me of the day of track fed printers and tearing at perforations.

I'm no computer wiz, but isn't there a keyboard shortcut to scroll through pages?

I received a pm from someone who believes I was kinda harsh in stating my view about the progress of this thread, so I'd like to clarify please.

Ian, I do think you jumped too quick from the beginning into the annoyed pond and came up with the water still dragging on you. That aside…

The tone of @ least 4 of the responses was "that doesn't work for me" or "that would be useless for me" and gave reasons why in their opinion it wouldn't help them - which frankly wasn't necessary in my opinion.

The man made a suggestion for an option - not a replacement of something, but an addition which would help him personally from his viewpoint. Possibly others would find it a useful thing too - and some have said that they would. Offering viable workarounds or suggesting other options people would like to see is one thing, which some people did. Otherwise, unless people had a reason why it was a BAD idea (as Keith did point out), then simply leave it alone and let the lack of support for the idea speak for itself. If it goes into effect, and the option isn't selected, then it makes no difference for people who don't find it useful, and it's there for the people who do.

There are too many people ready to dismiss ideas because they don't work for them personally without considering if there's any real harm in the idea, and that's what I see happened here - we should be supportive in a constructive way, and some people there were - but there were some who weren't, and I'm simply saying that if I'd been on the receiving end, it would have made me frustrated too. Not an excuse however for not towelling off after the dip in the pond. k everyone?

Here's my input. I agree with Ians first idea. I'm a college student, I don't even have time to keep up with my own images. And that 36 page deal is just bull. If it clogs the caedes server and it's easier for the caedes people to work on the site, then keep it at 36. If not, it's all just a bunch of bull.
