Ok, we all have 'em, that one or two songs that just make you cringe and make you want to rip your radio out of the dashboard and throw it out the window. Whether it's the music or the lyrics that drive you nuts tell us what it is!
One of my top ones is one of the favorite weekend 'party' songs of all time:
Bang a Gong. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Makes me almost drive off the road reaching for the buttons to change the channel!
"'Life is not a journey to the grave with the
intention of arriving safely in a pretty
and well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up,
totally worn out,
and loudly proclaiming,
"WOW! What a ride!"'
Hey there Mister Madman, wat'cha know that I don't know
Tell me some crazy stories, let me know who runs this show
Glassy-eyed and laughing, he turns and walks away
Tell me what made you that way

intention of arriving safely in a pretty
and well preserved body,

anything off the last Drop Kick Murpheys' cd. They had a hit song on "The Departed" and their Irish and from Boston, I FRICKEN GET IT! It was bad enough that they played it every hour but near the end of the MLB playoffs you couldn't go 5 minutes in boston without hearing it. and there other two songs are just as crappy. Its like corporate media doesn't care what their doing to the music. They just want to make as much as possible so their jamming as much down our throats..
Lee Kerrnigan (aussie country singer)- The boy from the bush.. arrgggg when that first came out the guys next door played it 24 hours straight.. absolutely hate it..
and
One Republic - Apologise... arrggggg i used to like it but its played over and over and over and over and over on the radio.. cringe everytime i hear it now.. I can even tell you what time it is when its on because one station plays it at least 5 times a day at exactly the same time...
The great white killer of soul music...
MICHAEL BOLTON
I cannot stand anything by him...and sadly, my hubby loves to play his cd's, it's a miracle that I am not bald (between the bleaching to Purple Haze my hair and the pulling out from listening to Michael Bolton)

"Think what a better world it would be if we all, the whole world, had cookies and milk about three o'clock every afternoon and then lay down on our blankets for a nap." - Robert Fulghum
I present to you, ladies and gentlemen of the jury ... Exhibit A:
"This is why I'm Hot
This is why I'm Hot
This is why, This is why, This is why I'm Hot
I'm hot cuz I'm fly, you ain't cuz you not!
This is why, This is why, This is why I'm Hot ..."

"MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no!"

Yeah, think in the case of "Your Beautiful" it really was overplayed, song and video ... just a bit much (<--- sarcasm here) ... and lead to listener/viewer overload of what is a nice song in my mind.
