Ian, did this image contain material that could be viewed by everyone of all ages on network television? That is what NTV means in the CoC.
I ask since you felt the need to have it approved prior to uploading :=)
Remember this is a site that has quite a few younger children as members.

Hey Mimi.... Both photos have been veiwed by my 3 and 5 yr old.... Photos are very nice indeed... The reason for asking the mod to look at them was to get a feeling of what the mods would like.... Since it was met with praise for the type of shot and clean look i uploaded it ! It is in no way rude or offensive but then again not EVERYONE is going to like it, its an artistic impression and as such should be allowed here... ALTHOUGH i would not put anything up offensive deliberatley...

I was going to approach the subject of having a type of adult section up here NOT for offensive material of course, they would still have to be moderated but as a few others have said they would like to see more photography like i posted.... Breaking some boundaries along the way wont hurt and i felt that my 2 photos did that without overstepping any mark !!

I believe that TBOB has put them in limbo so the mods may judge !! And please look at the artistic flair not just the photo !!!

I have just had this PM from a respected member on Caedes

QUOTE*
i wondered if they would! i thought it was a good shot, good to see you experimenting...i wish they had let it stay as i didnt think there was anything wrong with it personally

try posting it on www.photosig.com
they have lots of stuff like that on there some good, some tasteless .... you will probably get some better critiques and tips also

caedes is great on the whole, but sometimes......!!!!!!!!

I think its fair to say that i would also like it to stay.... Its something different and if we are to get better at what we all love to do then experimenting is the way to go.... I aspire to be more than i am, i want to try my talents in all fields of photography ! Im sure Caedes would be proud that we want to use his site as a growing ground for all our talents !!

Personally I cant see the problem with photos like these, if the photo is tasteful and does not over step the mark so to speak, after all, we have photos of all types of animals on the site, and who are we to say that Gods own creation should not be seen, whether it be Man OR Woman OR Cow.

Ian I think the issue is not about *caedes being proud of one of us expanding our talents, but more along the lines of not entering into areas that would expose him to any legal issues on the internet.
If you choose to show the images to your children, that is your choice, not *caedes nor maybe any other members here. This is a family site Ian, please bear that in mind.
The first image was somewhat borderline in my opinion only, the second clearly showed an area of the nipples as well as underwear in a provocative pose. That probably would not fly for NTV code as mentioned above.
There have also been many discussions re: mods decisions and how unfair they are with images.
Please remember that the mods (I am not one of them BTW) is under the edict of *caedes.
If *caedes chooses to allow your images to be posted, then they will be viewed by all.
This is his site and will most likely remain so:) We are privileged to be allowed to use it for free if we choose to.
I sure hope this helps :=)

Ian: I can see your two 'mono shot' images in an hidden gallery.
I can't accept what you are saying: these images are really borderline and especially the #2 (well named 'Mono shot 2... Just a little more !!!'). You let that comment: "Another risque shot..."
I remind you we are a family site with very young members.
Please, don't forget it.

Ian, please calm down and understand a couple of things. First, what you see on a beach in England, might be very different from what you see on a beach in Italy or the U.S. It's all different. Part of the family-friendliness of this site is to keep things within a certain "tone". Yes, kids are exposed to all sorts of things, but the issue isn't even 5 year-olds. It's 10-year-olds of which there are many users, and a parent's comfort in allowing them unrestricted access to the site. At that level and age, they are not yet able to distinguish between nudity and sexual nudity. It's just "OMG! Look how much boobies she has showing!"

The question of adult photography has been asked before and *caedes both wishes to keep the site family friendly and has stated he is also unwilling to expose himself legally to anything more.

Within those guidelines:

Mono shot is borderline but okay to me. It appears to be more a celebration of physique and personal decoration than highlighting body parts.

Mono shot 2 on the other hand has a problem for me both in position and exposure. I can clearly see too much boobie area there, and the laying in boy-shorts lingerie pose leans too hard to the sexual rather than any sensual that might be permissible.

By your own words, you recognize that the 2nd shot is "Risque" - enough to stop yourself and consider that this is not the atmosphere for it. You did right in e-mailing it to a mod for judgement 1st, but then given the current situation of having it placed in limbo, the thing to do is privately message another mod for more explanation or appeal to *caedes himself.

edit: Please note these are my own opinions after having viewed the images.

I have approved the first image and rejected the second image. The issue is not so much protecting children as it is in protecting this site and myself. If you want to take a stand for this type of material on the net then you are welcome to do so, but I get to decide if you can do it on my site. There are no hard feelings, and I hope that you continue to post images here that are in line with the spirit of the CoC.

The line has to be drawn somewhere and it has been decided that these images cross that line. End of story.

fra99y you e-mailed “Mono shot 2” to me and asked if I thought it was ok. I told you in my reply that it was not offensive to me but I thought you would get complaints on Caedes and some support for it. You did get both support and complaints.

Whilst you and I think the photo is ok, you must remember that Caedes is a community site. It’s the community that decides what is ok and the site owner that makes the final decision.

Personally I think that we could use a restricted gallery or even another arm of caedes. net to cater for this style of image. Who knows it might even happen if Caedes himself can see a need for it.

This is a Desktop Wallpaper site, A family and community site. That is why I joined, these types of photos should not be allowed here. I agree with &mimi. And I think that caedes himself should not have approved your first image. And a restricted gallery would not be appropriate as +trisbert mentioned. =Samatar and =ppigeon said it best. END OF STORY.
