Sometimes life throws a curve ball at us, and hits us right in the gut. At times like these, it's the greatest blessing in our lives to have friends come to our aid and rescue.

One of our dear friends at Caedes, Katz, is in such a situation. Although I don't know her well, my association with her and all of you have brought joy and pleasure into my life. I'm always impressed at how many good people I meet here. I'd like to help Katz (Sarah), and give you an opportunity as well if you feel you are able and wish to.

Last year, Katz lifted a box at work and the contents shifted and either caused or worsened a back problem - four bulging vertabrae. She has been in pain ever since. Her workplace has been reluctant to provide medical assistance. Sarah has had them in court over this to get them to assist with workers comp, but the company is dragging their feet.

This leaves her without means to remedy the medical situation. She hasn't insurance coverage, and so is having to pay some expensive medical procedures. The injury has limited her ability to work and provide. She has exhausted the help she can get from family, friends, and community.

Sarah's bad news has just worsened. After she got home today she received a phone call that said, in essence, effective immediately, she no longer had a job.

Sarah has done the best she can by herself but has become very downhearted & depressed. It seems this situation just keeps knocking her off balance time & again. This company is unbelievable to my way of thinking.... you'd think it was some sort of sweat shop. They're treated her very coldly & almost cruelly & she needs some sort of support system badly.

Man… that SUCKS. Please pass along that I'll be pulling for her, and I sincerely hope that her new lawyer can help. Nathan, I'll e-mail you tomorrow.

Just thinking out loud here ... wonder what would happen if some more light was brought to bear on her situation via a newspaper article possibly? The power of the written word is not to be underestimated and companies don't like bad press. Just a thought.
