Okay... I've searched around and can't find the javascript that is used on this site to resize the images, and I really want to put up some of my other work on my website, and, well, that code is just nifty... Does anyone out there know where I can find it?

What exactly do you mean by "resize?" I ask that because javascript doesn't have the ability to modify image data (to resize images). The smaller resolution images are created on the server using Perl and the ImageMagick library.

Smeg is a derogatory term that is sometimes used in conjuction with other words, such as "Smeghead!" or "Oh Smeg-It-All!!"
"Red Dwarf" is one of my favorite shows... read the books also. :c)

Apart from "Hitch Hikers Guide", of course... although that wasn't really a series I suppose...

HHG was a great series, I was quite saddened when I heard that Douglas Adams had passed away.

I heard some tape of a guy reading one of the stories, name slipping my mind right now. I didn't know it was a movie series. I would like to find those, the book on tape was extremely comical.

It was a radio series then a book then a TV series and (soon) a film.

Excellent - a text adventure, I haven't played one of those in years! That brings back memories of the 80's. Listen: 'The text adventure will appear on the station's website and was described by the late Adams as "the first game to move beyond being 'user friendly'". "It's actually 'user insulting' and because it lies to you as well it's also 'user mendacious,'" he said.'

Here is the page for the new series.

I dunno, the Discworld games are pretty insulting at times & are full or porky pies that mislead you. =]

I never played Douglas Adams' text game, but I will. I did play the text games "ZORK", and "Adventureland" years ago. I do have Douglas Adams' computer game "Starship Titanic".

I ran across the Playstation game "Discworld" and snatched it up for a few dollars because I am a DW fan. I never knew there were text DW games. Any one know where to find them?

I have only played one "text adventure" before, and that is from Home Star Runner. It is rather new, a comedy rip-off, and rather funny. You can check it out here.

On a side note, didn't this discussion take quite a long tangent? ;-) Seriously, though, it should be moved to the off-topic area.

I remember writing a text adventure on the old Atari 2600 XL (or at least attempting to). Think it was in Basic? I needed much assistance from my older brother though.
