Sunflowers

I know there are many superb sunflower shots on this site - but I really thought I had succeeded with these, and was disappointed to see that every one of them is archived.
I would be very grateful for any feedback as to where I went wrong.
Is it worth taking them down and doing some rework? If so, any suggestions as to what needs to be improved.
Thanks to anyone who will help :)

Eve, I don't know that technically there is anything wrong
with any of the images, but most probably an over-saturation of sunflower/flower images in the perm galleries. The quality of an image isn't a guarantee for perms, but uniqueness is a major factor in considering what images go to the permanent galleries.
Since I shoot mostly flowers, very few of my images have ever make it to the perms :=)
I hope this helps you :)
If not permed, then an image is archived.

Thanks Mimi - I guess they are just not unique enough.:)
Out of 792 permanent flower images only 17 are sunflowers, far outnumbered by lilies roses and tulips.

So sorry Eve, I didn't count the Perm sunflower images nor do I move them ...the above was just my 2c worth :)

And your 2c is very much appreciated :)
Perhaps my question can accross as a complaint - it was not my intention.
Really I was just wondering if it was worth trying to improve any of them - I have had a go at #1 and think it is improved (I intensified the colour, sharpened and added a frame)but I dont really want to take that one down as it scored well and seemed popular. I know I cannot upload the same image twice.
I guess we are all disappointed at times - thats life. Get on with it Eve!
There, I said it before any one else does lol

IMO the third image stands out above the others, due to the composition which is close to perfect in technical terms. In the other two I found the tree in the background a bit of a distraction.

The thing that struck me most when I opened the first one (in terms of things that could be improved) was the quality of the light, to me it looked just a little drab/overcast? But then I am obsessed with color and brightness and probably tend to overdo it in my own images.

Hi Sam, yes it was an overcast day.
I have done a bit of brightening on the first one - just for my own satisfaction, and added a frame - not liked by many, but to bring it to proper wallpaper size.
I would go back with my chainsaw and chop down the tree but the sunflowers are all dead now anyway lol.

I would appreciate it if you would have a dekko at my second version of #1 and tell me what you think
