I need a good camera that will be good for small photos and bigger stuff. The small stuff is more important but i need one that does not cost to much. thanks for your help!

"cost too much" is a relative term! :) How much are you looking to spend? When you say "small stuff" do you mean small subjects, as in macro or small file size?

You should shell out $100 whoppin' dollars for a old camera of some sort and ask you school if you can use their darkroom ..

.. that is, if they have a darkroom. Personally, for a camera in the 100-200 range, I'd take an old film camera over a cheapy digital any day, personally (maybe i can fit in another personally?). They also have more of a 'real camera' feel.

If you do want digital, a canon powershot series is very affordable, if you look for a used SD600 or so that should be in your price range. We've had ours for about 2 yrs and new it was only $250. The picture quality is excellent for a small point and shoot. I would recommend the models with a viewfinder though. turning off the big fat LCD on the back will make your battery last quite a bit longer.
