MC Escher is also one of my favorites. And - though she is not an artist in the sense of this thread I also am influenced by Bjork. I listen to her music most often while I am creating one of my pieces...or Billie Holiday. to me music and art go together.
For WinterNight and tbhockey: Dali is the guy who painted the one with the melting clocks... I'm sure you must have seen it, even if you didn't know the name...
Ha! Ha! Since I speak english on this site, I give english names at all Ha! Ha! Monet of course... Do you like Magritte? I think he inspirated a lot of pictures...
I had to do a search B4 I remembered who he was, but yes, I do like some of his work, especially "Castle in the Pyrenees". I did almost a whole semester in Art at high school based around that painting. He also did the one with the guy in the bowler hat, didn't he? I am trying to remember that painting, am I right in thinking he didn't have a face? Or it was replaced by an apple?
BTW, in terms of who I am inspired by... I will be philosophical and say Mother Nature...
You are to kind...i´m really touched by your comment Matthew and Pierre!
My inspiration are you all members and friends and the beautiful nature around us.
Mine are M. C. Escher, Dali, Robert Williams, Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, Derek Riggs and Ansel Adams.
