Linking.

And I notice that Robert has already replied on the other thread. Still, another approach might help with getting the concept across to you.

You want to know how to link to this image:

http://www.caedes.net/Zephir.cgi?lib=Caedes::Infopage&image=WENPEDER-1205901201.jpg


Here is the general linking formula:

<@ href="http://www.caedes.net">CAEDES</@>

Save one change, that being ... instead of @'s ... you would replace them with lowercase a's. Don't change the spacing.

The reason I place the @'s in the formula, is because if I didn't ... the site would convert it to an actual link.


Example 1):

<@ href="http://www.caedes.net">CAEDES</@>

Changing the @'s to a's ... will provide a link to the front page of the site here, as such ... CAEDES


The formula can be broken down into two parts. Again, here it is ... this time in words:

<@ href="The URL or web page address goes here">Name of link goes here, which can be a word, a sentence a paragraph ... whichever you wish</@>


Example 2):

Page you wish to link to:

http://www.caedes.net/Zephir.cgi?lib=Caedes::Infopage&image=WENPEDER-1205901201.jpg

General formula with the placement of the above URL where it should be placed:

<@ href="http://www.caedes.net/Zephir.cgi?lib=Caedes::Infopage&image=WENPEDER-1205901201.jpg">CAEDES</@>

Now, let's name it the title of Wendy's piece; "The Door".

Placing the name where it should go in the formula -

<@ href="http://www.caedes.net/Zephir.cgi?lib=Caedes::Infopage&image=WENPEDER-1205901201.jpg">"The Door"</@>

Now, all that needs to be done is change the @'s to a's (recall that I don't do this as the site would then convert it to an actual link and then you couldn't see behind the scenes, so to speak) and this is what would appear on the site here:

"The Door"

Annnnd ... done. :o)

You read me pretty well I was sort of experimenting to see if I could get the Click link to work for me. I'd try one thing then another...with 0 luck and just delete the flops.

Thanks to Mimi I just realized my profile page can be used for more then leaving comments on...Duh. I will stick with my own page rather then having everyone seeing my blunders and edits in the Request for Comment section.
