More and more I see photos in the "computer" section under New Images. Either the admins don't have a good eye or somethings wrong.

I checked it out and there are a few images that belong under photography. All images are moved by hand by the site moderators. They have excellent vision, but error do occur at times.

also - remember the people who upload the images get to choose the gallery they upload it to - perhaps they could take some sort of responsibility as to getting it right. generally moderators will only move an image if it is badly wrong - such as putting your own image in the rework gallery, pet snaps in the animal gallery that kind of thing and yes, photos in cg sections.

Ok, I have just been seeing a lot of it lately and nothing being done about it. Just a tad annoying to sort through photography when I want to see the latest CGI.

I have an idea - instead of wasting our time having to go in and manually change all the wrong images - what do you all feel about it if we just automatically archive these images off of the galleries? its much quicker and less hassle. im not talking about the ones that are the odd oversight here - I'm talking about the persistent offenders who do it presumably because they are ( a ) too lazy to scroll through the galleries through the first few abstract computer ones ( b ) think its some sort of weird game to pick the most unlikely and inappropriate galleries or ( c ) try to regularly sneak community/snapshot images in under the radar into other galleries. thoughts ?

You've got my vote.. with one small change. Issue a warning PM. If they don't heed it, then hey, tough noogies.

Actually, addressing (c)... if you know who they are, why not just put them on a time out.. no approval period. Either they'll get with the program, or they'll take their "game" somewhere else. Will there be some complaining? Yes, of course. Don't want to deal with it? Delete their PM and turn a deaf ear..

I guess we can add deleting and reuploading the same images with little or no change at all done to them within a few days to the candidates for uber swift archiving (jockeying for position in the galleries I guess) which seems to be the new game in town - no objections? Great........
