Pentax K20D and K200D

I am pretty new to the photography world and all I have for shooting is a little Pentax Optio A10. It does pretty good, but I want to upgrade. I have my eye on either a Pentax K20D or a K200D because I like the usability of the Pentax cameras but I don't know a whole lot about them. i was wondering if anyone knows any information on either of these cameras. i don't want to trust the website because they are pricey and I don't want to save up and buy a piece of junk. So any input would be much appreciated.

The K20D by all accounts is a solid piece of kit with great resolution and weatherproofing and, as you mentioned, the very flexible lens range. If has a few software flaws but nothing mechanical from what I read so they should be fixable via firmware updates in the future.

It even briefly held the crown as the most practical and desirable mid level DSLR until the Canon 50D arrived and pushed it to one side. That said, its cheaper than the Canon and will provide a similar quality result.

Just spotted this thread - I have taken a bit of a shine to the discussion board lately for some reason. I use the Samsung version of the K10D, the GX10 and have been pretty pleased with it. I'm certain I couldn't have got anything with as many features for the money and the GX20, Samsung's version of the K20D looks equally good value. Both cameras come with Samsung's new CMOS sensor which has been well received. I don't think you'd go far wrong with the K20D - worth checking the price against the GX20 because they're practically identical, but strangely the Samsung version seems to be retailing at a higher price than the Pentax at the moment. The GX10 was up to £100 cheaper than the K10D. Interesting to read Phil's comment on the software issue - from reviews I've seen the Samsung user menus looks better than Pentax's.
