Voting Booth Help

I'm not sure who to ask about this so I hope it's ok if I post a message here. I've noticed in my control panel that an image I posted on 18th Oct, "Chocolate Pony" has received only one vote and "Surfing the Storm", which I posted on 19th Oct has received no votes at all. I realise it can sometimes take a while to get enough votes for a c-index but to have no votes at all in five or six days seems a little strange. I don't really understand how the VB works but I'm wondering if maybe these images have fallen of the map, so to speak. Is something awry or am I fretting over nothing?

Kelcey, it might have to do with the huge number of images uploaded and the time it is taking your images to be randomly rotated through the voting booth. The other possibility is the ---new image gallery, also known as the holding gallery. :)
That will be checked to make sure everything is out of there.
Hope this helps :=)

I think that if you look in your control panel it will show that those images have been archived. Archived images do not receive further votes.

Stupid question.....why would an image be archived after only 4-5 days?

The thing is, I noticed this happening a few days ago but thought I'd give it time before saying anything just to make sure. I suspect they were actually archived after about 24 hours. Also, what happens to the c-index now, will they just never have one? Anyhow, I have PM'd the master and hopefully he can solve my conundrum:)

I'm as puzzled over the ones that make the permanent gallery after only a few days! Or am I puzzled when I see whose they belong to...

Or, perhaps ... 'puzzlement' is a permanent state for you?

To be clear, I was kidding in my post above yours, happygoneaway.

Well, I guess since you wish to be called 'fidget' ... as referenced on your profile page ... I will oblige you that here then. No slight intended, as I am simply not sure how to address you other than by username.

It is apparent that you are not satisfied with some (most?) things on the site here, Fidget. You've made some of your thoughts known on past discussions. Mind you, somewhat obliquely in my mind.

Can't get 'there from here' ... if you are not forthright and forthcoming with your thoughts and feelings.

And I don't say the following to insult, belittle, irritate, sidetrack or antagonize you ...

I don't find your conduct in the discussion threads to be constructive. 'Sniping' is the operative word that comes to mind. And that is my own personal thoughts and feelings. No one else's.

What would you suggest ... or what suggestions do you have to offer towards the betterment and improvement of the site?

That is to say; your, the other members and my place, as of this writing, that we have chosen freely to hang our artistic hats on. 'We' are guests here. All of us.

It is 'your' site, too, you know. You are currently active in posting work here and in commenting on other author's works.

Care to elaborate and/or be constructive?

I just took a look and, unless I'm mistaken, the "youngest" images in the perms are from september? So I think it is more than just a few days...
