Lol Bob, that's even funnier than Fox News:) Speaking of which, I'm sitting here with my laptop while flicking between US news networks on the TV and I'm surprised that there is next to no discussion about this on here. I know politics is a subject we tend to shy away from on Caedes but surely this moment is historical, rather than controversial. I'm never one for over-sentimentality, especially in politics but I have to confess that after following this campaign closely for months I'm actually feeling quite emotional right now. I'll have to try not to cry because my mates are here celebrating and as I'm often known for my cynicism they would never let me get away with it! My Dad is in NY at the moment and just sent me a text message from Rockafella Centre - my camera and I are very, very jealous. Congratulations to President-Elect Obama and as a citizen of a nation who's future will be significantly influenced by this decision I have to thank all you yanks who voted Democrat for making the right one:)
p.s. If you want to disagree with me, then feel free, I'm quite capable of debating the issues without making the argument personal... I think;)
No argument from me... I voted for Obama two or three times! Although, I have to say, McCain has proven to be a gracious and fair-minded person in my eyes.
McCain's speech was incredibly gracious and Barrack's was superb. Ok, so I did cry but so did my friends - for a group of cynical pinko uni students it seems that we really are a bunch of big softies:)
ps..don't know whether this is the right thread for this!...
Obama Wins!!
