Hey, I hope caedes reads this. I recently got a new computer, good. My current screen resolution is 1280 x 800 (and similar ratios), good. This site has no images that will comply to that, bad. I can't even up load images of similar ratio, still bad. So, I can no longer use any of the beautiful images that this site so graciously provides, very bad. Help = Good. =) & =( & =|

Most desktops will simply stretch (or shrink) to fit the screen resolution. Probably have to check a box in the prefs.
I have a similar issue, 17" widescreen powerbook. Resolution? - 1440x900. No real problem, some desktops look absolutely fine stretched to fit, some look a little odd.

I survive.

We don't have any of the lesser-used desktop resolutions because we had to put a limit on the number of versions of each image that we host on the site. There are far more desktop sizes than we can ever hope to support directly due to diskspace limitations. I chose to pick the first few most common desktop sizes. In the future we will support the uploading of images of arbitrary aspect ratio. This will allow people to share their widescreen wallpapers. In the meantime you can encourage me to support widescreen by sending me a widescreen laptop or flat panel monitor. ;-)
