I have the new upload system working on the dev site well enough that you can try it out: New Upload script

You'll probably have to log into the site or create a username in order to get access to it.

The new system will send your image straight to the image server. This should be faster (fewer transfers), and it should improve the issue that we have with long transfers timing out. Let me know what your thoughts are.

BTW, love the new profile page.. but the spacing is uneven on the personal info. Featurewise, it's great. Seems to have alot of what was asked for. Thanks.

I uploaded an image and when I did, it added me as a 'friend'.

Don't know if this is a bug or not.

I really like the new upload system. The time was quick.

Hopefully, with the CoC more prominent, it will discourage some of the problems that are encountered.

OK, went and checked. Caedes Control showed that I was a friend, but I don't know how that happened *shakes head*..I am my own enemy..lolol
*edit* checked Caedes Control on this site and it shows me as a 'friend' also. I have not been there previously and I am not notified when I upload on this site. Just an FYI.

Love the new upload system. Works great and fast...Only uploaded a 1900x1253...will try a much larger image later.

Very nice & quick. No problems with the uploading process. Love how one can preview the image prior to the final upload.

'K, just for the halibut, tried an upload ... 7631 X 2295, 22 Mb. approximately.

'Error message' (header) comes back stating:

"The image is too large. Please keep image pixel dimensions under 3200 X 3200."

Then, went through the 'second step' of selecting a gallery, titling and adding in an acccompanying narrative.

Success? As in, shows as an 'upload' to me ... however, the image does not appear in my galleries as yet.

Excuse me, The website won't let me upload my pictures. I have tried several times in the past few days. I voted on ten pictures the first two times, and twenty the last time, and each time I try to upload a picture, the site slows way down and when it finally does switch screens, all that is up is the caedes.net logo on it's side with nothing written beside it, and my picture never gets uploaded to my gallery!

If anyone can help, please leave a message on my User Panel (the thread right beneath my user information). It would be very much appreciated! Any help, please!

~~Caiden: Go back up to the very first post on this thread. Click on the blue link. That will take you to the deveolpment site where new features are tested. You will probably need to sign in again. From there upload just as always.

I did that directly after I posted my last comment. I went through the whole process (although it took a while) and it gave all appearances of having uploaded, but it still hasn't shown up in my gallery. (after a whole afternoon.) Maybe I'll try again.

Caiden, did the image show up in your gallery on the developer site?

The 'test' is to see if your image does indeed get uploaded. As I noted in my above posts, it is kind of a two step process ... as it has always been.

First step ... upload, image now resides on site servers.

Then, two; the image must be approved by an image moderator.

Any image uploaded to the development site will not appear in your galleries here.

And will not appear in your development site galleries, till approved. (See back a few posts, wherein *caedes did indeed approve my upload and it then appeared in my galleries there.)

If you encounter any other issues ... outside the purview of this discussion ... feel free to PM me and I will be glad to assist as best I can. :o)

(I am thinking that the time you tried to upload may have coincided with the site servers being busy, simply stated. In that case, wait an hour or so. Don't keep attempting successively ... give it a bit.)

I did eventually approve Caiden's image. Thanks Caiden. Also, after you upload the image, you are immediately set to the "Info page" for the image. That should be enough verification that the upload worked.

I don't know what is going on then, because that image "Nosferatu" still hasn't shown up in either of my galleries. Not in the regular one, or in the developer site gallery. So something got a hitch in the get-a-long somewhere.

(I don't mean to sound accusatory, angry, or even frustrated with you. Just thought you might want to know if something isn't working properly. And because I really do enjoy this site and uploading my pics. Just wanted to let you know that I'm not angry or miffed with you or the site. Just trying to figure things out)

I am perhaps not understanding properly. I uploaded an image via the dev site on the 17th - it appeared to upload successfully. I did not expect it to appear in my gallery as I thought it was for testing purposes only. After reading the above comments I think I may be wrong in thinking that?
Anyway, it never appeared in my gallery :)

I reloaded the dev site database on Saturday, so no images that were uploaded there before will now exist.
