WELL i have a nice panoramic image id like to upload... tried to upload the first time width was greater than 3000px... so i reduced to 3000px but then when i went to upload it a second time the height was too small... less than 600 px. This is kinda Disapointing as im now going to have to crop off some of the width to upload this image...

Honestly i think the picture size should be limited by number of pixels... in the case of the already implemented restrictions max = 9,000,000px min = 360,000px

I'm inclined to agree. I have already increased the maximum limit to 3200x3200 on the dev site. I'm also thinking of making the minimum much smaller (like 160px). That should fix your problem.
