Creating a Website, where?

I am trying to help my daughter find a good site to make her own website. Do any of you know any names. I use Tripod, and there is Angelfire, but how about any other names? I wasn't sure of what to call this question. Am not so good at that I guess. But if anyone can give me some company names of how or where we can create a website, it would be helpful. Thanx.

Verena ... in addition to the two you mentioned (Tripod & Anglefire) you may want to check out these two free website set-ups.

zoomshare.com

I used 'zoomshare' for my first website ... easy website set-up. Template (page) selections are limited for a free website.

Another free one I used & liked, but was unsatisified with their uploading images system. Sometimes the images would upload, but never actually appear. Hopefully, they got that fixed.

webs.com (formerly freewebs.com)

I loved webs.com wide variety of templates & one could get very creative by making a slide show or adding a video clip.

Currently I have my website through Website In a Box. It's not a free website, but very reasonable. I pay just under $70 for the entire year to maintain my website. There are professional features / add-ons for an additional fee. The website set-up is very easy & straightforward. Plus one has their own .com or .net which I have found beneficial as far as getting the desired exposure on the internet & search engines.

Hope this helps you & your daughter out some.
